Rombauer's Merlot from Carneros is as lush and crowd-pleasing as their Chardonnay, which is saying something. The 2021 is velvety and rich — ripe plum, dark cherry, mocha, and vanilla from well-managed oak make this a bottle that disappears suspiciously fast at dinner parties.
