Rodenbach Alexander Sour Ale 11.2oz
From the brewery beer writers call "the Burgundy of Belgium" — Rodenbach has brewed in Roeselare, West Flanders since 1821, maturing its famous sour red ales up to two years in a cathedral of nearly 300 towering oak foeders. Alexander was created in 1986 to honor founder Alexander Rodenbach's 200th birthday, retired, and finally resurrected by popular demand: two-thirds foeder-aged old beer blended with one-third young ale, then macerated with sour cherries. The marriage is seamless — the beer's wine-like, balsamic tartness melting into ripe cherry, red fruit, and oak vanilla, silky in texture with a long, sweet-tart finish. One of the world's great fruit beers, and a genuine crossover pour: serve it in a wine glass to sour-wine drinkers, natural wine fans, and anyone who claims they don't like beer.
