The Pizzolato family has farmed the fertile countryside north of Treviso for five generations, going fully organic back in 1985 — decades before it was fashionable — and today their certified-organic, vegan-friendly wines from the plains and hillsides along the Piave River are the benchmark of the category. This sweetly sparkling Moscato is pure sunshine: soft-pressed and slow-fermented two months in tank at gentle pressure, it pours bright gold with honeysuckle, ripe apricot, and angel-food-cake aromas, a round and vibrant palate of peach nectar, sweet apple, and orange marmalade, and a smooth honeyed finish — all at a featherweight 6.5% alcohol. Serve it well chilled with fruit tarts, brunch, spicy Thai, or Gorgonzola — or simply as dessert itself, no guilt attached.
