What happens when the grandson of Sassicaia's founder teams up with Jean-Marc Roulot of Meursault? Piero Incisa della Rocchetta established Bodega Chacra in 2004 in Mainqué, a village in Patagonia's Río Negro Valley — a cool desert where Andes snowmelt runs through century-old canals and warm days give way to frigid nights that lock in aroma and acidity. Farmed on biodynamic and organic principles and made with Roulot since 2017, the 2024 comes from three sandy, calcareous-pebbled parcels, picked early and barrel-fermented (a quarter to a third new oak — the same barrels Roulot uses in Meursault) without full malolactic, resting eleven months. Chiseled and delicate: white peach, lemon, and floral-herbal lift over a long, saline, iodine-tinged finish. Meursault sensibility with Patagonian wind in its hair.
