Jumbo Time is the Los Angeles-born natural wine project of Jonathan Yadegar, made up in Sonoma with a minimal-intervention playbook — sustainable farming, native ferments, barely-there sulfur — and packaged with the best label art in the cooler. The Gift is the skin-contact stunner of the lineup: an Alsatian-style aromatics parade of Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Muscat Canelli, and Pinot Gris, fermented on the skins into a textured California orange wine. It smells like a fruit stand — tropical and floral — and lands with green pear, vanilla bean, and a savory toasted-sesame edge, finishing fresh at 12.5% with only a whisper of added SO2. Serve it genuinely cold with Thai takeout, roasted vegetables, or a serious cheese board; it's also the friendliest possible introduction to orange wine for the curious.
