Glenfiddich 14yr 750ml
Scotch, speaking fluent bourbon. Glenfiddich — the Grant family's Speyside pioneer since 1887, and the distillery that launched the whole single-malt category in 1963 — built the 14 Year Bourbon Barrel Reserve exclusively for the American market, and the recipe is a love letter to the American palate: 14 years in ex-bourbon casks, then a finishing rest in deep-charred new American oak, the same virgin charred barrels bourbon is born in. The char does the talking — warm butter toffee, graham cracker, toasted marshmallow, and cinnamon on the nose, a creamy palate of toffee, baked orchard fruit, and cocoa, and a Mexican-vanilla finish with gently drying oak. Bottled at 43% and kosher certified. The bridge bottle: rich enough to convert the bourbon loyalist, elegant enough to satisfy the Speyside faithful.
