Ghost Town Brewing rose out of a West Oakland metal shop with a blue-collar, heavy-riff ethos — and Nose Goblin is their trophy beer: Gold Medal winner at the 2021 Great American Beer Festival in the Imperial IPA category. It's a West Coast double IPA the old-faith way — crystal clear, bone-dry, and bitter where it counts — built on a rotating cast of premium hops (recent rounds have leaned on Nelson Sauvin, Mosaic, and Strata) that pile up dank resin, white grapefruit, tropical gooseberry, and pine over a clean malt spine. At 9.2% it's a slow sipper that drinks dangerously brighter than its strength. Four pints of Oakland's best argument that West Coast never left.
