Drambuie is a Scottish whisky liqueur made from aged Scotch malt whisky, heather honey, herbs, and spices. The recipe is said to have been gifted by Bonnie Prince Charlie to a Captain John MacKinnon of Skye in 1746 following the Battle of Culloden, though the commercial version was only introduced in 1909. Rich, honeyed, and warming with heather, anise, and vanilla — the essential ingredient in a Rusty Nail, and a compelling digestif on its own.
