Invented in 1952 in Padua by the Dalle Molle brothers, Cynar takes its name from cynarin, the compound in artichokes responsible for its distinctive vegetal bitterness. A blend of artichoke leaves and 13 herbs and plants creates a lower-proof, approachable amaro that's equally at home in a Spritz, a Negroni riff, or sipped neat as a digestif.
