Christina Gruner Veltliner 24
Christina Netzl grew up on her family's mixed farm in Göttlesbrunn, in Austria's Carnuntum region just east of Vienna, and after studying oenology in London returned home in 2007 — eventually launching her own natural range alongside the family estate's classic bottlings. Her Grüner Veltliner comes from one of the coolest sites in the region, where iron-rich red gravel and loess soils meet chilled Danube winds, preserving the grape's signature white-pepper snap. Whole bunches are pressed without destemming, wild-fermented slow and cold in stainless steel, and bottled unfiltered on fine lees — hazy, energetic green apple, pear, and lime with peppery spice and mouthwatering acidity. Turn the bottle gently before opening and pour it with schnitzel, fried chicken, or anything from the sea.
