Made in Central Los Angeles by Adam Huss's Centralas, a micro-winery on a mission of radical transparency — every ingredient goes on the label (here: organic grapes and a touch of sulfites, nothing else). Syren is a single-block, single-clone Pinot Noir — Dijon 667 — from the certified organic Spear Vineyards in the Sta. Rita Hills, where ocean fog pours through the east-west valley. In hot 2020, the team picked twice, grabbing most of the fruit just ahead of an extreme heat event and the rest two weeks after, yielding a surprisingly lithe, Oregon-leaning Pinot from a warm vintage. Hand-picked in darkness, wild-fermented in small open-top bins with a single daily punch-down, and aged a year in neutral oak, it's unfined and unfiltered: strawberry, black cherry, and wild chaparral over crunchy, refreshing acidity.
