Brooks Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2024
Few Oregon wineries carry a story like Brooks. Founded in 1998 by Jimi Brooks, who died suddenly in 2004 at just 38, the winery passed to his eight-year-old son Pascal — and Jimi's sister Janie Brooks Heuck stepped in to run it, building it into the female-led, Certified B Corp, Demeter-certified biodynamic powerhouse it is today, with longtime cellar hand Claire Jarreau now head winemaker. The ouroboros on the label — the serpent consuming its tail — honors that cycle of loss and renewal. The 2024 Willamette Valley Pinot, drawn from sustainably farmed sites across the valley, is bright and generous: fresh red cherry, wild strawberry, and rose petal over cherry cola, tart red currant, and warm spice, with lively pomegranate acidity and a gently earthy, saline finish. Classic Oregon Pinot with a soul.
