Barrell Bourbon Cigar Blend
Built for the pour after the smoke. Louisville's Barrell Craft Spirits made its name doing one thing better than anyone — blending sourced barrels at cask strength with obsessive, batch-by-batch transparency — and Cigar Blend is founder Joe Beatrice's crew engineering a bourbon specifically for the ritual of a good cigar. Straight bourbons from Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana, aged 7½ to 18 years, are married and finished across an indulgent quartet of casks: Madeira, Armagnac, rum, and Hungarian oak. Bottled uncut at 111.2 proof, it reads like the humidor itself — pipe tobacco, cedar, toffee, and leather on the nose, spiced cola, pistachio, and vanilla on the palate, and a long sweet-vermouth finish of clove, cocoa, and slate-like minerality. Previously a near-unobtainable limited release, Cigar Blend now anchors Barrell's permanent lineup — no cigar required, but highly encouraged.
