Alpine Pinot Noir with a single address. Krafuss is Alois Lageder’s flagship red: Pinot Noir from one prized hillside site whose cool microclimate and stony soils have made it the family’s answer to Burgundy for decades. Farmed on the same biodynamic principles as everything from the six-generation Magrè estate, the 2022 is mountain Pinot in full voice — garnet with a ruby shimmer, red and black berries laced with spice, pepper, and a striking flinty streak, then a medium-bodied palate that’s silky, savory, and alive with alpine freshness at a graceful 12%. Where so much Pinot has gotten bigger, Krafuss stays chiseled — closer in spirit to Chambolle than California. Duck, mushroom risotto, salmon, roast pork, or your most Burgundy-loyal customer’s blind-tasting humbling.
