Der Pollerhof Vom Loess 24

Poller has a group of small vineyards which he calls the aromatics: Sauvignon Blanc, Gelber Muskateller, Traminer, and others. He produces difficult to obtain bottlings of each. This wine is a blend of the three: Sauvignon Blanc (65%), Gelber Muskateller (30%), and Traminer (5%).

Vom Löss means 'from loess,' and the deep, wind-deposited soils behind this wine give it a richer, more generous character than Der Pollerhof's entry-level bottling. Stone fruit, fennel, white pepper—fuller and more satisfying, but still with that clean Wachau backbone. A beautiful step up.
