Massenez Calvados Apple

Massenez is one of Alsace's most distinguished fruit spirit producers, with over 150 years of experience in the craft. Their Calvados-style apple brandy is rich with orchard fruit character — baked apple, golden raisin, and warm spice — developed through patient oak aging. G.E. Massenez Calvados Vieux , an apple brandy with a large apple inside the bottle. Like the proverbial ship in a flagon, we wondered how it got there. The producers attach carafes to the branches and slip the tiny developing apple into the bottle, where it grows to maturity. Certainly eye-catching. And you thought bottles dont grow on trees!
