Kanpai Chardonnay 19

Kanpai Wines was born out of the 2017 Napa wildfires—owners Peter Chiang and Azumi Kubo had just purchased Meadowbrook Farm when the fires hit, and rather than sell the grapes, they called award-winning winemaker Steve Matthiasson. He designed this Chardonnay specifically to pair with sushi: clean, saline, and precise, with lemon verbena, chamomile, and yellow peach lifted by bright, focused acidity. A wine with an origin story worth knowing.
