Made by Alexis Hudon in the Touraine AOC of the Loire Valley from organically farmed Gamay, Grolleau, and Braucol, Groseille ('currant' in French) is exactly the kind of low-intervention Loire red that has wine drinkers excited about the region again. Light-bodied, juicy, and crunchy — macerated three weeks without intervention, aged in fiberglass, bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulfur. Bright cherry, plum, a herbal edge, and pure drinkability. Chill and crush.
