Gran Classico is based on the original “Bitter of Turin” recipe dating from the 1860’s. This rich, slightly viscous aperitif is tart with the bitterness of citrus peel and a sweeter finish that balances the tannic botanical qualities. This classic aperitif is an infusion of numerous herbs and roots including bitter orange peel, wormwood, gentian, rhubarb, and other aromatic plants. Gran Classico Bitter’s color is a natural result of the botanicals used in the infusion blend, and is not artificial in any way. Gran Classico is the perfect substitute bitter for Campari if you’re a Negroni drinker trying to avoid artificial additives (unfortunately, Campari is an artificially colored product).
