Garnacha Centenaria 22

Bodegas Aragonesas' Coto de Hayas Garnacha Centenaria comes from 100-year-old Garnacha vines planted on the slate and red soils of Monte Alto and La Sarda in Campo de Borja — on the slopes of the Iberian Mountain Range near its highest peak, El Moncayo. The winery traces its Garnacha heritage to Cistercian monks from the Monastery of Veruela who were cultivating these hillsides as far back as 1145. Hand-harvested with indigenous yeasts, aged four months in French oak, the 2022 is full-bodied and aromatic with concentrated red and blue fruit, lavender, and a spicy, long finish. Outstanding value from one of Spain's most historic Garnacha regions.
