Chateau Leoville Las Cases Le Petit Lion 10

Leoville Las Cases is a wine that experts consider comparable to First Growths like Latour and Mouton. In certain years, several vineyard plots are uprooted and replanted. As they are coming into production instead of going into the Grand Vin the Chateau created this second wine from these younger vines. The Petit Lion shares the philosophy of its elder sibling; it is vinified and aged in order to preserve its fresh, ripe fruit  and made to be more accessible with a significant proportion of Merlot used in the blend.
 
This wine has a big nose of creme de cassis, black cherries, forest floor, and tobacco, with some almost Pauillac-like lead pencil and minerality. Full-bodied, with bright acidity and remarkable purity as well as ripe tannins.
