Notes of pollen and beeswax and is heady and ripe at 15% alcohol; it is powerful and has notes of sweet spices intermixed with wild berries and herbs. It has abundant, slightly dusty tannins. Even the younger red here needs powerful food and is more of a winter than summer wine. It matured in oak barrels for 10 months.
